Mother Teresa International Airport (TIA), also known as Tirana Airport, is the largest and busiest airport in Albania. It is located 17 kilometres northwest of Tirana, near the city of Rinas.
It is named after Mother Teresa, a nun, missionary and saint of the Roman Catholic Church, who was born in Skopje, now North Macedonia, but was of Albanian origin.
Tirana Airport offers direct flights to around 30 international destinations in Europe and the Middle East. It is served by some of the largest airlines in the world, including low-cost airlines.
In 2019, Tirana Airport recorded a record of more than 3 million passengers. It has a passenger terminal with modern amenities, including shopping and dining facilities, currency exchange services and car hire.
The airport is well connected to the Albanian road network via the SH60 motorway and also offers taxi services and an airport bus to Tirana city centre.
